The days of a stationary baby are over for the Moss Family household. . . Annabelle is now crawling. She does it her own way, kind of a push off with one foot and a crawl with the other. The best part is she switches as to which leg does the pushing and which leg does the crawling! Although I sweep my floors at least twice a day, I am amazed at the amount of dirt (and dog hair) still left on the floor. This is evident to me when Annabelle crawls all over the place. Here I thought I was doing a decent job of getting it all up, but alas all my cleaning is done in vain! Her socks and knees are the tell tell sign of a poor job at housekeeping!
Much to the sadness of many in our household, the Music Man is now over. Chloe is still constantly singing the songs she learned and talks about "Harold Hill" every chance she gets. On the day of the first performance Chloe told me, "Tonight is the first plerfor... perflor...well tonight is the first thing of the music man!" They loved every minute of rehersals, performances, and cast party. Trent even got in on the action as he was the resident "sound guy". He even got a letter from the stake presidency saying they had never had the sound so good on any stake production. Looks like Trent has a permanent calling! Although Chloe didn't have a starring role, even the director said she stole the show. She knew every word to every song and was truely having so much fun being in the limelight. Jayden as we all already knew, loves the stage. She had a great time dancing and singing as well.
This past weekend Coleman spent with his cousins. One of the stipulations for him to have cousins over was that they were to rake the leaves in the front yard. Coleman and McCoy (who is also 8) were doing pretty well. (As well as 8 year olds can be expected to work.) Mitchell (who is 5) was not doing so much. Coleman kept coming inside to tell me that they were doing all the work and Mitchell was just playing. Finally he came in and said, "Mom. Me and Coy are doing all the work and Mitchell is just playing. I even drew him a pie chart to show him how much we were doing and how little he was doing. He didn't even get it." A 5 year old who doesn't know a pie chart? What is his kindergarten teacher teaching him?
